Experts are coming together in Woodinville to help people understand how to live in harmony with wildlife.
Farmer Frog and Friends are hosting the Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW), Defenders of Wildlife, Western Wildlife Outreach, and similar educators who are teaching people how they can successfully coexist with wild animals. Proceeds from the event will go to Farmer Frog’s Livestock Guardian Dog Teams, and the Karelian Bear Dog Program managed by the WDFW. Educators such as the NW Tribal Emergency Management Council, Panthera, and more will attend, and music, food, and art vendors will also participate.
The event runs from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm. The day begins with a welcome talk and a chance to meet the Karelian Bear Dogs. Interpretative trails walks lasting 20 minutes will be held every hour on the half-hour, starting at 10.30 am, while 20-minute presentations in the barn will be held on the hour, beginning at 11.00 am. Finally, Music in the Barn will feature local artists playing 20-minute sets every hour on the half-hour, starting at 10.30 am.
Subjects of the barn talks are the Karelian Bear Dogs, cougar/bear safety tips, and how
“Good Fences + Good Dogs = Wildlife Friendly Farming.” When organizers develop events like this, they can use brochure printing to create programs.
A $20 donation per car is asked, but the event is free. Since parking is limited, admissions are timed. The festival will be on June 4 at Paradise Farm - Farmer Frog on Paradise Lake Road.
