Entertainment for children presented near Woodinville
A play especially adapted for children will be presented near Woodinville to make the new year more fun.
Studio East, a non-profit organization located in Kirkland, produces the shows given by StoryBook Theatre. The theater takes popular fairy tales and transforms them into musicals. Each of the shows is approximately 55 minutes long, and is aimed at youngsters from ages three through ten. In addition, all the shows have happy endings, and each one is focused on a specific life lesson, shared through stories and music.
The upcoming show is “Sleeping Beauty,” which has been adapted from the original by Lani Brockman, with Susan Bardsley providing the music and lyrics. The lesson taught in this show is “follow your dreams.” In this version, Princess Beauty is, as her name implies, lovely, but she is discovering that being good-looking is not particularly valuable when she wants to have adventures and slay dragons. She is also not keen on having to sleep for 100 years, or waiting for the prince to save her, when she could just as well save him. The theater points out that this production has something for both boys and girls.
StoryBook Theater's version of “Sleeping Beauty” is scheduled for two performances on February 7, 2021, one at 11:00 am and the second at 1:00 pm. The venue is the Kirkland Performance Center in Kirkland, a short distance from Woodinville. Poster printing can provide colorful advertising for events like this.
