An upcoming event in Woodinville has an unusual star—frogs.
The Festival of Frogs 2023 will be held at the Brightwater Education Center, and is organized by IslandWood. Those attending the festival will be taught about frogs in the local area, their habitats, and calls. After the introduction, participants will go to the center’s wetland and ponds, where they will have a chance to look for breeding frogs and the eggs they have laid.
People who are interested in the frog hunt should come dressed in raingear, shoes that are sturdy enough for a moderate hike, and a flashlight or headlamp. The event is suitable for those six and older, and fills up quickly, so those who are interested should register soon. There is no charge for the event.
IslandWood is a non-profit that offers a number of immersive programs dealing with environmental education. These programs help educators, children, and members of the community learn more about the natural world, investigate environmental issues, and think about the ways in which they can make a difference for themselves and the planet. In addition, IslandWood incorporates the principle of JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) into its programs.
The froggy festival takes place on March 21, from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm. Brightwater Education Center is based at 22505 St. Rt. 9 SE in Woodinville. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create informative handouts for attendees.
