Turkeys on the trot in Vancouver

A popular activity is returning to Vancouver for 2021.

The Turkey Trot, an annual event side-lined in 2020 by the pandemic, will be held in person in 2021, though in a slightly different format. Instead of allowing racers to congregate in one large group, organizers have set up five different courses throughout the county.

Anyone interested in taking part in the event is invited to choose the location that works for them. A “race when you can” option is also offered, so that people can choose the time and day they would like to do their run/walk, if the scheduled event does not suit their schedule.

All race courses are out-and-back routes. Anyone who wants to run a 10K will need to run the course twice. The five locations are Ridgefield, Camas, Lewisville, Salmon Creek, and the Waterfront Course in downtown Vancouver. Banner printing can be used to create course markers for events like this, making it easy for participants to find their way over the route.

All five race courses will have 5K course timing as well as refreshments. Registration packages include a T-shirt with the Turkey Trot 2021 Logo Design, and a goody bag. All proceeds from the event go to support the Clark County Food Bank.

The Turkey Trot is scheduled for November 25, Thanksgiving morning, with the races beginning at 9:00 am.
