Teachers to get together in Vancouver

A special event is scheduled to allow local teachers to relax and recharge.

The 2nd Annual Drama Teacher Mingler 2023 is designed specifically to allow teachers to focus on reviving and rediscovering their passion for the teaching profession. COVID presented extraordinary challenges to teachers, who had to adapt, in most cases, to an entirely online method of teaching – something most had never done. The results have been burnout, as well as feelings of disconnection and lack of motivation.

The upcoming event will give teachers a chance to get together once again with others in their profession in person. Organizers of the event will teach stress-relieving techniques that will allow teachers to focus on their own health, which will enhance their interactions with their students.

Hors d’oeuvres will be served, as will wine, and a tour of Center Stage Clothiers costume shop is planned. Drama teachers will see the materials that are available to them for their student productions. Center Stage is run by Diana Cannon Kirkpatrick, a seamstress and costume designer based in Vancouver who has deigned the wardrobe for eight feature films.

The event is scheduled for August 25, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The venue is the Clark County Historical Museum, located at 1511 Main Street in Vancouver, which is worth a visit. Teachers who are planning on attending are encouraged to invite other costumers and teachers they know. Events like this are perfect places for attendees to exchange Business Cards.
