Pets feature in art event in Vancouver

One of a series of ongoing art events is on the schedule in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Art Space is the place to be for February’s Paint-Your-Pet Sunday session. The get-together gives people a chance to show how much they love their furry friends, and helps raise money for the Humane Society of Southwest Washington at the same time. Everything a novice artist needs is part of the fee, including paint, canvas, the transfer, and instruction. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create instructional handouts for attendees.

Once they have registered, participants should email a photo of their pet to the Art Space, putting the day they are attending the event in the subject line. The experts at the facility will use the photo to create a transfer, concentrating on the head of the subject. They will also crop the photo if desired.

The experts also have tips for people about how to choose a good photo for the project. They note it is easier to paint an animal with its mouth closed than when it is open. Participants should also send their largest file and photo, and make sure the photo has good lighting. Finally, they note that if the person wants an item included in the background, to let them know.

The workshop is set for February 20, from 3.00 pm until 6.00 pm. The Vancouver Art Space is on Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive.
