Oil painting basics at Vancouver workshop

The Vancouver Art Space will be organizing a beginner’s workshop in February for people interested in oil painting.

The Oil Painting Basics course is a multiweek event that both beginners and those experienced with acrylics can attend. The class will cover concepts such as traditional composition, blending, and various styles of painting. Students will get to watch live demonstrations and will receive individualized instructions and feedback from the teacher in an open-studio environment. Only one project will be completed during the course.

The Vancouver Art Space offers various art classes that encourage confidence in students and sparks artistic exploration. Most of the general workshops provided by the organization are for people aged 15 and older. Past courses from the business have covered watercolors, pastel drawings, jewelry making, and digital tablet design. Instructors for art classes like this can use Print shops to make Flyers to market their lessons.

The oil painting course will have its first class on Thursday, February 4 and its final session on Thursday, February 25. The cost of the lesson will be $160, which will include all necessary supplies for the workshop. Guests are welcome to bring their own materials. All students must wear a face covering, and wearing gloves is encouraged by the venue. Attendees must also abide by the Vancouver Art Space’s social distancing policies.
