New burger spot to come to Vancouver
A burger food truck, “hit the spot!”, will be coming to the Uptown Village in Vancouver later this year with its first restaurant.
Jeremy Sivers, owner of the burger joint, says that the menu will feature hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and French fries, as well as floats and shakes with ice cream from Umpqua. Beverages will include hard cider, beer, and wine.
Sivers had looked at other locations such as Portland and its suburbs, until he found the space vacated by Starbucks in Vancouver. He came upon the “smash burger” concept by accident as he was looking for a fast way to get burgers to customers more quickly. A smash burger, which is pressed down on the grill, can cook in 90 seconds as opposed to up to 10 minutes for a regular burger. Sivers considers his eatery to be farm-to-table fast food.
The restaurant will have the feel of an updated drive-in burger place. The music will be G-rated ’90s hip-hop. Renovations on the space are currently underway and expect to take three months. Local print shops can be hired to create posters and other materials announcing such new eateries coming to an area while they are under construction.
Sivers is hoping to open other hit the spot! locations throughout Vancouver and in other suburbs of Portland, including Beaverton and Gresham.
