An enjoyable and informative walk has been scheduled to encourage people to start shaking off the winter chill, as the Spring brings with it some warmer weather.
The Water Resources Education Center will be hosting the upcoming Spring Beak Walk, which promises to be both fun and educational.
As the daylight hours increase, local birds become more active, and start to build nests. Baby birds will hatch soon, and birdsong can be heard in the wetlands near the Education Center. The upcoming walk will give enthusiasts a chance to enjoy these natural events.
Everyone is welcome to attend the walk, with only one restriction. It is suitable for individuals and families with children who are six and older, but is not recommended for youngsters under six. In addition, all minors will need to have an adult present to accompany them.
The walk is approximately 1.5 miles in length, and takes place over uneven terrain including muddy wetlands, sandy beaches, and some paved surfaces. Participants may borrow a pair of binoculars if they don’t have their own.
The Spring Beak Walk is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, from 9.30am until 11.30am, and registration is required.
The Water Resources Education Center is located at 4600 SE Columbia Way. When organizers plan an event like this, they will often work with printers using flyer printing services to create a map as a handout for attendees.
