A recurring event is winding up for the year soon, and Vancouver gardeners will want to take advantage of the opportunity before it is gone.
The Clark Conservation District has been selling native plants for several months, but the sales are ending fairly soon. Native plants are obviously a good choice for anyone who is interested in gardening or improving their landscaping, since they grow well in the local area. They are low maintenance, and are helpful in maintaining the environment since they support pollinators, birds, and other types of wildlife, as well as protecting lakes and streams, and controlling erosion.
These sales are extremely popular, so much so that some of the most desirable plants have been sold out, and then restocked. These species include kinnikinic and western bleeding heart, so anyone interested in these plants in particular should order as soon as possible. Other species on sale include western hemlock, Oregon oak, western red cedar, big leaf lupine, Oregon iris, Oregon sunshine, beaked hazelnut, and Douglas aster. Flyer printing can be used to create informative sheets to accompany products like this.
The sales are arranged by pre-order, and then picked up by the purchaser at 11104 NE 149th Street in Brush Prairie, a small Vancouver suburb. The date of the pickup is February 27, and orders are due by February 11. The district is putting protocols in place so people can pick up their purchases safely.
