Dean Kirkland, of Kirkland Development, recently broke ground at The Waterfront in Vancouver for two more of the project's buildings.
The Hotel Indigo will be the sixth building at the complex, and the Kirkland Tower will be the seventh, according to an article on msn.com.
Kirkland called the groundbreaking a “big moment” going on to say “It's not every day you build a $100 million project.” Although the buildings will not be open until 2020, Kirkland hopes residents will enjoy anticipating the project's completion.
Hotel Indigo is eight stories tall, and has amenities including dry cleaning, food delivery, a valet, concierge services, a dog-washing station, and dry cleaning. Kirkland anticipates a hotel room will be in the $200 per night price range.
Kirkland Tower is a condominium building topping out at 12 stories. One-, two- and three-bedroom units will be available, and residents will be able to use the amenities offered to Indigo Hotel guests. Among the condos, 13 of them will have unusual “stacker” parking arrangements so owners can park more than one car in a small space. Prices for the units have not been disclosed.
Between them the buildings will offer 17,000 square feet of space to be used for retailing, and four restaurants, with more on the way.
Projects like this can benefit if developers work with a brochure printing company to create an illustrated booklet for prospective tenants, showing the buildings' amenities.
