Meeting arranged for organizations serving area youth

A meeting is coming up that will enable organizations to win funding.

Workforce Southwest Washington (WSW) is looking for organizations that deliver services to young people, ages 16-24, who are out of school, and that can provide integrated services focused on giving training and holistic support to these individuals to prepare them for success in their careers, or in post-secondary education. WSW will be providing funding to those organizations that meet their guidelines.

WSW is particularly interested in speaking with organizations serving these population segments: those with mental health issues; those involved with the justice system, past or present; individuals without housing; individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community; low-income young people; single parents, or those expecting a child; communities of color; displaced homemakers; veterans, or eligible spouses of veterans; youth in foster care or those who have aged out of the system; those learning English; those working at community colleges or in any post-secondary education; and disabled individuals.

WSW anticipates having $1,068,530 available to fund programs for the first year, and will make the money available to qualifying groups in Clark, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum Counties.

The meeting is scheduled for January 11, from 1.00 pm until 2.00 pm, at the Workforce Southwest Washington office, 805 Broadway Street, Suite 412, in downtown Vancouver. WSW will answer funding questions at the event, and there will be time for networking, which is the ideal occasion for participants to exchange Business Cards.
