Heavy construction comes to Vancouver area

An event coming up near Vancouver gives children of all ages a chance to learn about construction in the best way—operating the equipment.

Dozer Day® allows youngsters (and their parents) to climb into the driver’s seat, under proper supervision, and operate the controls of equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, cement mixers, and more. They will learn about the capabilities and functions of the equipment, and how it is used in construction. Dozer Day® activities are both educational and fun, and may help spark interest in construction.

In addition, some of the organizations sponsoring the event are construction companies who are hiring people in the local area. Among the sponsors in Vancouver are the Building Industry Association of Clark County, Taylor Morrison Homes, RDO Equipment Company, and Papé Machinery.

Dozer Day® is held in communities nationwide, and is the primary fundraising event for the Nutter Family Foundation, which was founded in 2008 by Renee and Jerry Nutter. The Foundation is a non-profit that is focused on children’s needs, believing that society is enhanced overall when children are encouraged to build their talents. To date, the Foundation has given about $2 million back to the community.

Dozer Day® is scheduled for October 5 and 6, at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, just north of Vancouver, from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm both days. When organizers plan events like this, they often decide to work with printers who use poster printing to create advertising.
