Spooky things are going on in Vancouver, Washington this fall.
The Clark County Historical Museum (CCHM) is offering its Haunted Walking Tours that will familiarize attendees with some of the county's more colorful—and frightening—legends. The tours leave from the museum, and visit from 10 to 15 historic sites.
Volunteer guides lead each of the tours, which are limited to a total of 25 participants. Each of the walks last from 60 to 75 minutes, and most cover a mile on average. Although people of all ages are welcome to take part, those 13 years old and over will probably be most appreciative. Everyone over six years of age needs to have a ticket.
The tour guides will share a mix of personal experiences, research, memories, and stories, giving participants an intriguing look at the darker side of the city. Many of the stories are taken from “Darkness Next Door,” a book written by Pat Jollota, a historian from Clark County. Flyer printing can be used to provide handouts for attendees at events like this.
There are two tours available per day, one at 6:30 pm and the second starting at 7:30 pm. The tour event begins October 23 and continues through October 28; admission is $18, or $15 for members of the historical society. The museum is at 1511 Main Street, and the tours are held rain or shine. Tickets go on sale September 1.
