Event calls to beautify Vancouver

An event scheduled for those who would like to spend some time improving the quality of life in Vancouver.

The City of Vancouver is teaming up with Vancouver’s Downtown Association and the Parks Foundation of Clark County to invite people to improve the city’s downtown, or plant flowers in Propstra Square. There are two separate events and start times available. Volunteers are needed to do some cleanup and weeding downtown while others may prefer to plant flowers. Propstra Square is part of Esther Short Park, which is in the heart of the city.

Volunteers should plan to bring kneeling pads, gloves, water bottles, trowels or other small tools they want to use for the cleanup. They should also wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and plan to wear masks at all times and maintain a safe distance from others. Flyer printing can be used to provide instructions for attendees at events like this.

The date of the event is May 22, from 9.00 am until 11.30 am. The downtown cleanup will take place from 9.00 am until 11.00 am, and the flower planting is scheduled for 9.30 am until 11.30 am. People who are interested will need to register for the event and choose the time and activity they prefer. In addition, young people under the age of 18 must have parental consent to attend, which can be given at registration. Anyone younger than 14 must have an adult accompanying them.
