Clark Public Utilities (CPU), which provides utility services to customers in Clark County, is inviting everyone to take part in the upcoming Race for Warmth.
The proceeds from the event will go to support Operation Warm Heart, a program funded by CPU customers that helps limited-income families pay their electric bills.
All of the money raised by the race goes directly to fund Operation Warm Heart. The race has raised more than $150,000 for families in need in the last four years. Both a 5K Run/Walk, and a 10K race are planned. In order to make sure runners do not get lost, organizers of events like this can use poster printing to create directional signage.
On the day of the race, registration will begin at 7:00 am for those not pre-registered; they will also be able to pick up race packets at the time. Registration will close at 8:15 am. At 8:30 am, the Kids Run will start, and at 9:00 am, the 10K will kick off. The 5K Run/Walk starts five minutes later, at 9:05 am. An After Party is also part of the fun, and will run from 9:30 am until 11:30 am.
The fee for both the 10K and the 5K is $30 per person in advance, or $40 on the day of the race; the Kids' Run is free. The Race for Warmth is set for January 27, a Sunday, and registration is open now.
