Vancouver has a new baseball team, though not a major league club. The city is now home to the Ridgefield Raptors, whose inaugural season starts soon. C-TRAN is helping fans celebrate with free shuttle service.
The transit company has partnered with the Raptors to provide transportation to three games during the 2019 season, to join in the celebration of the Raptors' addition to the West Coast League.
The Raptors' home field is the new Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex on Hillhurst Road in Ridgefield. Passengers can board the shuttles at the 99th Street Transit Center in Vancouver, on N.E. Seventh Avenue; in downtown Ridgefield at Third Avenue and Simons Street, downtown; or at the Ridgefield Park and Ride, located at 65th Avenue and Pioneer Street in Ridgefield.
The first bus will leave from the 99th Street Transit Center about 4:45 pm. The other buses will leave the Park and Ride, and the downtown Ridgefield stop a few minutes later. The shuttles will run until the game starts at 6.35 pm. A fireworks display will follow the first home game, and buses will start leaving the complex 20 minutes after the end of the fireworks.
The free service will be available this Tuesday, June 4, which is the home opener, then again on the home games scheduled for June 29 and July 19. Officials are planning to release a bus schedule – a task that can be done through flyer printing.
