Trail work scheduled in Vancouver

People who would like to get outside for a change have a chance to volunteer soon.

The Washington Trails Association is looking for people who would like to help improve the trails in Blandford Canyon. The work party will be physically distanced and masked, but participants will still have a chance to make a difference, and meet other like-minded individuals, as they work in the dirt to improve the trails.

Since the event is taking place during the pandemic, organizers have set specific guidelines for participating. These are:

• Participants will be asked COVID screening questions when they arrive
• Everyone will wear a cloth face covering, with no exceptions even for family
• Tool and hand sanitizer will be supplied
• All supplies and tools must be sanitized before and after every use
• Everyone will maintain a six-foot distance, unless the party is made up of members of the same household
• Six-foot markers will be on the ground to indicate proper spacing at check-in
• Volunteers will self-screen before the event, and stay home if necessary
• No more than four people in a group
• Anyone who does not follow protocols, or fails the screening, will be asked to leave

There are several days on the calendar for those who would enjoy this event. Everyone is welcome on February 5, on February 6 the event is for the LGBTQ+ community only, and on February 7 it is just for women. Flyer printing can provide written instructions for events like this.
