A full weekend of sports activities is coming to Vancouver.
The Triathlon & Endurance Sports Festival will feature numerous contests including 5K and 10K run/walks, a Kids Triathlon, an All Women’s Sprint, and much more. Many of the races are held beside the Columbia River, others are within sight of the waterway, making this one of the most scenic events in the region. Participants will be able to see not only the river, but also Vancouver Lake, Mt. Hood, and Mt. St. Helen’s.
The first day brings the Kids Triathlon, which starts at 5.00 pm. At 7.00 pm, the Sunset 5K/10K begins. The course is flat, and the run will be fast.
Among the events on the second day are the Sprint Triathlon comprising a ½-mile swim, a 5km run, and a 12-mile bike ride. The race will have a wave start, beginning at 8.00 am. The swim is in the Columbia River, presenting a challenge, as racers are not allowed to touch the sand. Anyone who needs a break must remain in place until they resume swimming. Any stroke is acceptable.
The third day includes a Girlfriends All Women’s Sprint Triathlon, a 5K, AquaBike, and Duathlon. These courses are flat and quick races are expected. All races start at 9.00 am.
The festival begins August 8 and runs through the 10th. Organizers of race events like this can work with banner printing to create suitable course markers.
