Rocking hard in Vancouver

Two bands are coming to Vancouver that will rock the city to a heavy metal vibe.

Motorbreath and Bad Ellie plan to tear up Billy Blues Bar & Grill in Hazel Dell. Motorbreath, a tribute for Metallica, recreates the feel, look, and sound of one of the most iconic heavy metal bands in history. The band plays songs from the entire Metallica catalog, from its days as a garage band, to rarely heard deep cuts, to its huge mainstream hits.

The band takes its name from a classic Metallica song, which talks about taking chances and living life on one’s own terms. Metallica was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 and operates mostly out of San Francisco, and is considered – along with Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth – one of the four bands that founded thrash metal.

Accompanying Motorbreath is Bad Ellie, a rock/pop-punk band based in Portland, Oregon. The band takes its inspiration from outfits like Blink-182, Green Day, and All-American Rejects. Older bands known for their pop-rock style are classic outfits like the Beach Boys and the Beatles.

The bands will be at Billy Blues Bar & Grill on Saturday, June 3, and admission is for those 21 and above only. When local shows such as this are planned, organizers could use flyer printing to create advertising handouts to distribute in the area.
