Popular event scheduled in Vancouver
An annual event that many people make time for is on the schedule for Vancouver, in a slightly different form this year.
The Turkey Trot 2020 will have to be done differently due to the ongoing pandemic, but organizers have several different options for runners. In the past, as many as 1,200 participants met at Klineline Pond for the run, but such gatherings are not currently an option, race organizers are offering a virtual run.
Another option still being created is a series of widely scattered racecourses throughout Clark County. These courses will have a start line, finish line, and turnaround marker to delineate the halfway point. Further details of these courses, as well as how to race in person safely, will be announced later.
If people choose to run a virtual 5K this year, they are welcome to do so wherever they choose, be that around their neighborhood or on a treadmill at home. After they have finished their personal event, they can then submit their times.
The Turkey Trot 2020 is scheduled for 9:00 am on November 26, Thanksgiving Day. The registration fee for both the in-person races and the virtual 5K is $20, all of which goes to support the Clark County Food Bank. Banner printing can be used to provide the markers for this type of event, since they are sturdy and stand up to outdoor use.
