Funny evening promised in Vancouver
A comedian who has found his audience online is coming to Vancouver, and bringing a friend.
Andrew Rivers is a stand-up comic whose comedy is based on personal experiences. He has been in the business for 13 years, and some of comedy’s brightest stars have praised him and his strong work ethic. He opens for Christopher Titus regularly, and has toured with Steve Hofstetter across Europe and North America.
Although both “The Tonight Show” and Netflix rejected him, Rivers has released comedy specials online. “Dry Bar Comedy” appeared in 2018, and he followed it up with “The Laugh Button” in 2012. They have received millions of views on Facebook and YouTube.
When asked if his show is family friendly, Rivers says that depends on the family. He does not suggest bringing children to his performances, though he notes that they have probably heard it all at school. However, he adds that anyone sensitive to adult language or topics might not enjoy his routines.
Accompanying Rivers is Dr. Brady Smith, known as “The TikTok Dentist.” Smith really is a dentist, and has made dozens of TikTok videos, ranging from a few seconds to several minutes long, usually discussing funny situations in the dental office.
The show is Sunday, December 10 at 8:00 pm, at the Magenta Theatre on Main Street in Vancouver. There will be a meet-and-greet following the performance. Theater management can use poster printing to create advertising for an evening like this.
