Cover bands night sees out summer in Vancouver
Although summer is winding down, a party in Vancouver is heating up.
Heavy Metal Pizza & Brewing is throwing an End of Summer Bash, featuring some of the best cover bands in the area. Foovana, The Beat-On Brats, and Punchus will be on hand to send summer out in style.
Foovana is a portmanteau of the Foo Fighters and Nirvana, featuring music from both these rock bands that featured Dave Grohl as a member. The Beat-On Brats take listeners back to punk’s early days as they play the Ramones’ greatest hits, while Punchus will cover all the Primus songs fans love.
Foovana’s setlist includes Foo Fighters classics like “Up in Arms,” “Learn to Fly,” and more than a dozen others. The Nirvana songs covered include “Come as You Are,” “About a Girl,” and of course, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Foovana is based in Portland, Oregon.
The Beat-On Brats are a tribute band for The Ramones, and promise to be loud and fast. Their setlist includes “Do You Wanna Dance?” and “Let’s Dance.”
Punchus is a three-man outfit based in Portland, Oregon, who got together in 2022 to pay tribute to Primus. The trio came from across the country to team up: Chapin A is from Mt. Hood, Oregon; Derek D. is from Indiana, and Dylan H. is Canadian.
