Tree conference comes to Spokane Valley

One of the region’s most notable events for tree experts and enthusiasts is coming to Spokane Valley.

The Spokane Conservation District (SCD) is hosting the 2025 Inland Tree Conference, a two-day event that will bring together forest landowners, top experts in the green industry, and managers. They will have an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in tree management and care, as well as networking with their peers.

The conference schedule combines lectures, a film, and breakout sessions that run on parallel tracks. The experts who are presenting the talks have a solid background in the field.

As an example, Consulting Arborist James Komen will discuss “Keynote Case Selections from Washington Tree Law.” Komen specializes in tree appraisal and risk assessment in California, and will talk about several cases regarding trees that Washington courts have decided. These decisions go back more than 100 years.

Forest Health Specialist Dana Brennan, who has worked in Alaska, will discuss Native Insects & Diseases, and the impact they have on forests. Breakout sessions include such topics as “Resilient Trees for the Inland Northwest,” and “There is More Bite to the Bark Than You Think.” The film “Elemental, Reimagine Wildfire,” about the devastating Paradise, California, fire, will be shown.

The 2025 Inland Tree Conference takes place January 9 and 10, at the CenterPlace Regional Event Center in Spokane Valley. When they plan events like this, organizers may use flyer printing to create a schedule for attendees to use.
