What's Happening in Spokane Valley, WA…

Huge event coming to Spokane Valley

A popular annual event is returning to Spokane Valley, with something for everyone.

Every September brings Valleyfest and its events, including a parade, held in various locations throughout the city. A true community festival, Valleyfest is funded entirely with donations from the City of Spokane Valley, individuals, and local businesses, and is staffed by volunteers.

The fun begins with the Hearts of Gold Parade, which starts at Appleway Florist & Greenhouse and moves east along Sprague Avenue to Perrine Road. Parade entries include bands, floats, classic cars, custom cars, Miss Spokane Valley Royalty, and animals

The following day brings a variety of events, including the 5K/10K River Run, a walk to support those impacted by Down Syndrome, and a fishing session for children at Mirabeau Point Park Waterfall. Other events include a STEAM showcase, and CultureFest, where people from throughout the region share their cultures via food, fashion, music, art, dance, and business.

The final day brings more CultureFest offerings, as well as a car show, a gathering for pet parents, an event to connect human parents with services for children, and a pancake breakfast. Both days are filled with a variety of live music performances, with dozens of bands scheduled, from mariachis to the Japanese drumming of Spokane Taiko to classic rock.

Valleyfest starts with the parade on Friday, September 19 at 7:30 pm, and runs through Sunday, September 21. Major events like this are often advertised with colorful posters, which organizers will find at print shops.
