Upcoming event pairs kids and cops
A family-friendly event is coming to Spokane Valley, bringing together citizens and the people who protect them.
The Cops & Kids Car Show is a presentation of the City of Spokane Valley, Spokane Riverside Cruisers, and the Spokane Valley Police Department. The event includes a drone demonstration, a motorcycle rodeo, and a chance to meet a K9 officer. People attending the event will also have a chance to view a SWAT vehicle and the SVPD/SCSO police helicopter, and can meet Spokane Valley police officers on a one-to-one basis. Food trucks, kids’ entertainment, and music courtesy of a DJ are also planned.
The car show will conclude at 7:00 pm, and the show is followed by a cruise heading west on Sprague Avenue. The Spokane Riverside Cruisers, who are one of the organizers of the event, are dedicated to bringing back the tradition of cruising various streets, especially Riverside.
A Back-to-School Drive is part of the event. Attendees are encouraged to donate items like markers, notebooks, backpacks, and other school supplies. They will be collected and provided to children in the local area to ensure they go back to school with the supplies they need.
The Cops & Kids Car Show is scheduled for Saturday, August 23, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The venue is Balfour Park, 105 North Balfour Road in Spokane Valley, and the event is free. When they plan outdoor events like this, organizers can work with banner printing shops to create decorations.
