One of the year’s biggest events is planned for Spokane Valley.
The Spokane County Interstate Fair includes live entertainment, animal exhibits, activities, and of course, food. A wide range of cuisines will be available.
Animal events include Barnyard Racing, Mutton Bustin’, and a chance to see horses, llamas, herding dogs, Cedar the Highland Cow, exotic animals, and many others up close. Bo the Goat is this year’s fair mascot.
Live music is a big part of the fun. First up is Clay Walker, who appeared on the scene in 1993 with “What’s It to You,” a single that went all the way to No. 1 on the country chart.
Eddie Montgomery is next. He and Troy Gentry, now deceased, were Montgomery Gentry, a honky-tonk duo that shot to stardom in 1999 with “Tattoos & Scars.” They put over 20 songs on the charts in their career.
Various platforms such as CMT and Spotify have named Ian Munsick an “Artist to Watch.” He recently toured with country legends Cody Johnson and Morgan Wallen.
Flo Rida broke through in 2007 with his single “Low,” which sat in the No. 1 spot for 10 weeks. The song won a People’s Choice Award in 2009 as “Favorite Hip-Hop Song.”
The fair is scheduled for September 6 to15 at the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center, 404 North Havanna Street in Spokane Valley. Organizers of an event like this will often work with banner printing companies to create festive decorations for the venue.
