Whitey Morgan started performing with the Waycross Georgia Farmboys, his band, in the mid-2000s. They first made their name in the Midwest, where they were part of the honky tonk culture and released their first EP. Small Stone Records, a Detroit company, signed them, and their first album, “Honky Tonks and Cheap Motels” soon followed. They continued touring in 2009, building a following, and in 2010, the group debuted under the name “Whitey Morgan and the 78s.”
After that beginning, the band has been heard on NPR, and won an Ameripolitan Music Award in 2014 as “Outlaw Country Band of the Year.” In 2015, their album “Sonic Ranch” hit the Top 40 on both Billboard's Independent Albums chart and Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
“Sonic Ranch” is the album that brought the group to national attention. Since then, they have come to be known for heavy drumming and a bluesy piano that work well on numbers like “Another Round” and “I Ain't Drunk.” Brochure printing can provide programs for events like this that include additional information about the performers.
