Rain gardens are a new twist on an old idea, and an Olympia workshop will introduce their use and design to local property owners.
A two-part online learning opportunity has been planned for the community, and it will cover a variety of topics that the organizers feel will be helpful to those considering one for their home or business landscape. It will cover the reasons why they are beneficial, but will go beyond this.
The course will begin with an exploration of how rain gardens can reduce pollution and minimize the amount of effluent that reaches local waterways. Design and construction, plant selection, and installation will be addressed, and there will be a discussion of maintenance and care tips as well. This learning opportunity is being brought to the area courtesy of the Native Plant Salvage Foundation, and the plan is for the registration fees to help fund its activities.
A class like this benefits both people and the environment, and it can also give a helping hand to area wildlife. Manuals and other texts for the event are just some of what Print shops can offer for the occasion.
This two part workshop will take place online on April 13 and 20. The Naive Plant Salvage Foundation’s website includes a registration link as well as joining details. Get a Free Quote for Print
