Olympia event to welcome return of fall

The Thurston Conservation District's Harvest festival is fast approaching, and it has been scheduled to take place at South Union Grange. The event will be family-friendly, and there will be hands-on fun for all ages.

The festivities will kick off mid-morning, and the event’s schedule will offer a variety of activities, many of which will have a seasonal theme. There will be workshops to sit in on as well as scarecrow making and pie baking contests. Little ones can make a craft or watch the apple press prepare cider and other treats, and information about home horticulture will also be available. Both lunch and light refreshments may be purchased on site.

Those who took advantage of the city’s seed and fall bulb sale can pick up their orders, and admission to the event will be free.

Harvest festivals and other fall events often include a pop-up market area that showcases the community’s small businesses. Companies that plan on taking part in one can order decor from a local printing services company, which can provide Logo Design and other branding elements.

Families looking for a fun-filled day may want to include this community event in their autumn calendar. It is planned to take place on Saturday, October 4, and it will be running from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
