This holiday season, an Olympia area community will be welcoming one and all for an initiative that will celebrate the enter holiday season in high style.
Yelm has set the schedule for its Christmas in the Park celebration, and there are several activities on its agenda, many of them family friendly enough for both local kids and parents to make them cherished annual traditions.
The festivities will open with a tree lighting ceremony scheduled for the park, and this will mark the official start of the community's holiday season. An evening of free photos with Santa is in the works, and the whole family can get involved. The Christmas in the Park Day will include the Christmas Parade, which is organized by the local chamber of commerce. There will be free games and other fun, and complementary refreshments will be served. Live entertainment from a choir and magician have both been organized.
When preparing for a community celebration, planners may reach out to local businesses seeking sponsorships and other support. Corporate Gifts in kind can make for welcome donations, and may be used as draw or door prizes.
Yelm’s schedule of holiday fun opens on Monday, December 1 and activities are planned for December 5 and 6. A full description of the festivities and their dates can be found on the Experience Olympia website.
