Sunflowers and summer go hand in hand, and an Olympia venue is using these cheerful blooms as the centerpiece for one of its special events.
Running for the rest of the month, Rutledge Family Farm is running its annual Sunflower Festival. At least 40 varieties are on display, and each visit will be filled with photo ops.
The sunflowers, which have been joined by more than 400 tuber-grown dahlias in over 15 colors, are growing in fields for the attendees to stroll through. Along with the flowers, there are freshly made grilled cheese sandwiches served alongside strawberry lemonade slushies and scoops of ice cream, and sweet and salty kettle corn. The venue is located at 302 93rd Street, and admission starts at $12 for adults and $8 for kids aged 5 to 11. Kids aged four and under are welcome to enter for free.
An annual event may call for signage that has been custom designed for the occasion, and if it is used outdoors it will likely need to be durable enough to withstand the weather. A poster printing company will be happy to help, and can offer a range of options at various price points.
