People have discovered various ways of preserving fresh foods for future use, and one of these will be the focus of an Olympia culinary workshop planned for this coming January.
The participants in the class, which will be offered by the not-for-profit organization GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty), will be taught the art and science of preparing quick pickling. The attendees will also be able to walk away with several recipes for making their own at home.
The session will introduce methods for pickling that can be done quickly, and both common and “outside the box” recipes will be included in the event. Even potatoes and ramen-ready pickled eggs will be on the list, and citrus fruits will be included too.
Brian Johnson, who has perfected his cookery talents while working in eateries that serve populations in need, will be the facilitator, and he has also previously led a workshop that covers the art of Korean BBQ cuisine.
A cookery class can be both fun and economical, as preparing food at home that can be stored away helps to cut grocery costs. A flyer printing company can aid in marketing an event like this, and also provide printed Copies of the recipes used, so the attendees can recreate them at home.
This introduction to quick pickling will begin at 1:00pm on January 20th. The venue can be found at 2016 Elliott Avenue Northwest, Olympia.Get a Free Quote for Copies
