Utilizing a home-based composting system helps to both create a valuable soil amendment and also keep food scraps and other biodegradable waste out of landfills, and a fall Olympia activity will introduce the practice to the public.
Dirt Works Demonstration Garden will be offering residents an opportunity to learn the ins and outs on successful composting, as well as how worms can be helpful partners, and it will take place rain or shine. The venue for the activity will be on Alta Street, and advance registration is not required.
Both of the workshops will be on offer free of charge, and those who are interested can take one or both. It will explore how to prepare both traditional and worm-based composting systems for the upcoming winter months so the compost will be ready for use next gardening season. The attendees can ask questions, and they will also be able to meet other local home gardeners.
Those who organize educational activities may appreciate receiving additional learning materials, as these may add even more value to a workshop. A brochure printing company will be happy to craft a wide selection of items to list customers specifications.
The Dirt Works Demonstration Garden will be offering the scoop on creating top-quality compost on September 9. The start times for the sessions are 10:00 am and 11:00 am.
