An upcoming walk in Kirkland will help in the battle against oral cancer.

The mission of the Oral Cancer Foundation is to reduce oral cancer in the United States, and support people who have the disease or have had it in the past. The foundation holds events, such as the upcoming walk, throughout the country to raise awareness of the disease both in the medical profession and the public in general.

They work toward improving treatment, education, early detection, and urging lifestyle changes to prevent contracting the disease. The foundation also sponsors research into all the issues surrounding the condition. With the funds raised, the Foundation has had the ability to fund multiple research projects that have been published, providing information used in the struggle against oral cancer.

The walk will take place at Juanita Beach Park in Kirkland. The event begins at 10.00 am and ends at 1.00 pm. Check-in time runs from 9.00 am until 10.00 am, when the walk starts. Registration will be cut off on April 29 at 2.00 pm. However, if anyone would like to participate but cannot pre-register, they can register in person on the date of the event.

The event is also a fundraiser, so donations will be accepted until December 31.

The date of the walk is April 30. Organizers of events like this can use banner printing to create sturdy, weather-resistant markers that show the course.
