Shaun Cassidy began his career as a vocalist, signed by Warner Brothers when he was a high schooler. He released top 10 hits including “Do You Believe in Magic?,” and three of his albums, “Shaun Cassidy” (1976), “Born Late” (1977), and 1978’s “Under Wraps” were rated platinum.
He starred in the 1970s television series “The Adventures of the Hardy Boys,” which spanned 48 episodes. In the mid-1990s, he appeared on Broadway in “Blood Brothers.” He also turned his attention to television writing and wrote the pilot of “American Gothic,” a show the New York Times called:
“The most original new show of the season.”
He went on to write or produce numerous series, including “Roar,” which starred the late Heath Ledger. His series “New Amsterdam” ran on NBC/Netflix from 2018 to 2023.
With all his success, Cassidy said he missed the connection he finds with the audience during live performances and returned to touring. A review says:
“Shaun Cassidy is your adolescent crush that grew up to be a thoughtful storyteller . . . His voice is still AMAZING and the anecdotes he shares . . . connect all the dots between the late 1970s and today.”
Shaun Cassidy will be at the Kirkland Performance Center on Friday, February 13. Performances like this benefit when organizers create advertisements for them using poster printing.
