Show comes Draggin Around in Kirkland

A tribute band to one of the best-selling artists in music will be appearing in Kirkland.

Petty Thief is a tribute for Tom Petty, who sold over 80 million records throughout the world in his four-decade career, both as the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and as a solo artist. During his career, Petty released 13 albums with the Heartbreakers; two with the Traveling Wilburys; two with Mudcrutch, his first band; and three as a soloist, giving Petty Thief a huge catalog to work with.

Petty Thief is based in Seattle, and its members have taken their own approach to Tom Petty’s art. Rather than using props and wigs to try and “impersonate” Petty and the Heartbreakers, they remain true to themselves as a live rock band that can deliver the iconic songs that convey the heart of the Petty experience.

The members are all touring and recording musicians who have been with successful original, tribute, and cover bands. The current lineup is Andy Volmer, on guitar and vocals; Steve Crabtree handling lead guitar and backing vocals; Mark Mosholder who started playing bass and singing in seventh grade and has never stopped; John Paredes, backing vocals and keyboards; and Rick Bourgoin, who began drumming as a youngster.

Petty Thief, which formed in 2007, will be at the Kirkland Performance Center on August 21. When they plan concerts like this, organizers can use poster printing to create publicity for them.
