August concerts wind up this year’s Summer Concert Series in Kirkland, bringing four bands to the city.
The month starts with an appearance by Good Day Sunshine, a Seattle-based band who perform the iconic hits of The Beatles. However, rather than trying to duplicate a Beatles’ performance, Good Day Sunshine focuses on providing an enjoyable experience as they play the band’s most popular hits. They play several albums, including “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band,” “Revolver,” and “Robber Soul” in their entirety.
Next up are The Hipsters, who play dance rock from bands like the Kings of Leon, The Killers, Adele, FallOut Boy, Greenway, and more, from the 1990s to the present day.
Country/rock artist Joel Gibson, Jr., is next on the schedule. An independent artist who travels the Pacific Northwest, Gibson tours frequently and plays a variety of stage shows, either with his band or as a solo act. He has become known for his baritone voice, charismatic presence, and modest demeanor.
The month ends with an appearance by One Hit Wonders, who is a solo act. The artist has been playing guitar since he was ten, and has worked with numerous bands and appeared on various records. He enjoys playing as a solo acoustic artist.
Good Day Sunshine appears August 7, The Hipsters play August 14, Joel Gibson, Jr., appears August 21, and One Hit Wonders wraps things up on August 28. Officials who organize a series like this may use poster printing to advertise it.
