Artist charts own path to entertain in Kirkland

A solo artist who has taken an independent route to success is coming to Kirkland.

David Nevue is a composer and pianist who founded an online radio station, “Whisperings: Solo Piano Radio,” in 2003 as a way to ensure he could share his own style of piano music. He felt the traditional music industry was failing, and so he decided to bypass the entire process of cutting demos and sending them to various labels and instead use the internet to promote his work. His gamble turned out to be a good one: he began his online self-promotion in 1995 and was able to transition into a full-time career in music by 2001.

Nevue has released 17 albums, dropping the latest, “In the Soft Light of Grace” in 2019. It debuted in the No. 1 spot on Amazon and iTunes for works in his genre and climbed into Billboard’s Top 5.

Nevue tailors his performances for his audience and will give attendees a chance to request their favorite songs. The artist will be available to meet concertgoers both before and after the event. They are welcome to take photos, and he will sign autographs.

David Nevue will entertain at Almost Famous, located at 12345 NE 116th Street, on November 21. The venue is small, seating only 60, so organizers are requesting that parents find childcare for little ones. Using flyer printing, organizers can create economical announcements for the concert and distribute them locally.
