Geoffrey Castle, a musician known for his virtuoso playing of the six-string electric violin, is on his way to Kirkland for the 10th year in a row.
Castle will be bringing his own version of beloved carols and other types of music to the audience in his hometown. He likes to use older material that is noncommercial, and give it his own personal touch.
At his Kirkland appearance, Castle’s guests will include Pamela and Veronica Nim, a mother and daughter who both sing with the Seattle Opera, and the Seattle Irish Dance Company. His bandmates are bassist Steve Boyce, percussionist TJ Morris, drummer Darin Watkins, and Mark Cardenas on keyboards. Castle’s special guest is Dan Connolly, a guitarist and vocalist.
Kirkland residents who miss the show will have a chance to catch up with Castle in Bothell, which is only eight miles away. The Nims will again be performing, as will Irish dance group. Castle’s special guest this time will be drummer Alan White, who has drummed for YES, Joe Cocker, George Harrison, and John Lennon among others.
Castle will bring his ‘Celtic Christmas Celebration’ to the Kirkland Performance Center on December 22, from 8:00 pm until 10:00 pm. He will move on to Bothell the next night, December 23, at the Northshore Performing Arts Center, starting at 7:30 pm.
