Special ballet performance for children near Kirkland

Children in Kirkland who enjoy ballet will have a chance to see a special performance of a classic in nearby Bellevue.

The International Ballet Theatre, the premier ballet company in Bellevue, is presenting a performance of “Alice in Wonderland” as part of its IBT for Children program. Although all audiences are welcome, the ballet company believes the performance will be most appreciated by younger audiences. In addition, the dancers who will perform at this event are members of the International Ballet Academy, which is the preparatory school for dancers hoping to join the main company.

The ballet is based on “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” the famous novel by Lewis Carroll. The choreographers for the performance are Hiromi Rudd, Alison Epson, and Vera Altunina, and the music is by A. Glazunov and Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky. When events such as this are scheduled, organizers can use brochure printing to create attractive programs for audiences.

There are four performance scheduled, at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, on both March 26 and 27. Since it is designed for young people, the performance is shorter than most ballets. The performance is in two acts, with a total time of one hour and 10 minutes, including one intermission. General admission is $45, children 12 and under are $27. The venue is the Meydenbauer Theater in Bellevue, a short distance from Kirkland. There is parking available at the theater, and public transit options are on offer nearby.
