Running wild in Kirkland

A tribute band that promises something wild is coming to Kirkland soon.

The Seattle-based Wild Rumours is a tribute band for Fleetwood Mac, but the group has a specific style. They perform Fleetwood Mac albums in their entirety, playing the songs in the order they appear on the album. They concentrate on the self-titled “Fleetwood Mac,” released in 1975, and 1978’s smash hit “Rumours,” with some additional hits from the band’s catalog.

By focusing on the major hits from the time Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks were featured in the band, Wild Rumours recreates the concert experience fans would have had watching Fleetwood Mac live, ranging from the quiet, introspective moments to intense crescendos.

Wild Rumours comprises professional Pacific Northwest musicians, who do take some liberties with the original music to put their own spin on it. Wild Rumors’ lineup today is vocalist/keyboardist Jen Ayers; Patrick Porter on guitar/vocals; Kathy Moore on keyboards, guitar, and vocals; drummer Geoff Reading; and bassist Richard Davidson.

Each of these artists has extensive experience and has appeared with other major stars. For instance, Jen Ayers has worked with Tom Petty and Dave Matthews, Patrick Porter has a band of his own, Explone, and Geoff Reading, Kathy Moore, and Richard Davidson have similar resumes.

The concert is set for September 13 at the Kirkland Performance Center. To bring audiences to shows like this, organizers need to create colorful publicity for them, which they often choose to do using poster printing.
