Popular vocalist coming to Kirkland

A singer/songwriter who rose to fame as an “American Idol” winner is coming to Kirkland.

Maddie Poppe is a songwriter and vocalist who also plays ukulele, piano, and guitar. In 2018, she won the 16th season of “American Idol,” and was signed by Hollywood Records immediately. She started touring, making appearances, and recording right away.

In 2019, she released “Whirlwind” on Hollywood, her first album on a major label. The album climbed to No. 2 on the iTunes pop charts, and two tracks from the album, “Not Losing You” and “Made You Miss” both made it into the Top 25 chart of hit singles. Unfortunately, when the pandemic hit, Hollywood dropped Poppe. Poppe admits to being blindsided by the decision, as she already had an EP ready to go and was planning the next steps in her career.

To ground herself and decide her course, she began studying her favorite artists, writing her own material, and finally moved to Nashville to start over. There she built a support team and in 2023, released several singles, as well as opening for Nick Carter, one of the Backstreet Boys, on his solo tour. She also opened for Joshua Radin. A concert review says:
“Maddie is so talented and I was smiling the whole entire time!!”

Maddie Poppe will be at the Kirkland Performance Center on May 23 at 7.00 pm. Events like this can be promoted when organizers use poster printing to create advertisements.
