Kirkland is showing several films this summer, and they are suitable for families and children.
There are four films scheduled for August, to be shown as two double features. The venue for these occasions is Heritage Park on Waverly Way.
The first double bill is “Turning Red” and “Soul,” and the second double feature is “Luca” and “Ticket to Paradise.” The first three films are rated PG, while “Ticket to Paradise” is rated PG-13.
“Turning Red” (2022) is a computer animated fantasy about a Chinese-Canadian girl who is cursed to turn into a huge red panda whenever she has a strong emotion.
“Soul” (2020) is also computer animated, and is the story of a pianist who goes into a coma following an accident, and attempts to reunite his body and soul.
“Luca,” released in 2021, is the coming-of-age story of a sea monster boy who turns into a human on land.
Finally, “Ticket to Paradise,” a 2022 release, is a romantic comedy starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts. They play a divorced couple who work together to derail their daughter’s wedding.
The first double feature is scheduled for August 5, and the second for August 12, both of which are Saturdays. The first films start at 6:00 pm, and the second at 8:00 pm. People are welcome to bring blankets or lawn chairs and relax. Banners are colorful ways to announce events like this, and organizers can create them using banner printing.
