Kirkland plans huge summer party

Plans are being finalized for an event to welcome the summer to Kirkland.

Kirkland's 2020 Party in the Park includes breakfast, entertainment, kids' activities, family fun, a trail walk, and a 5K. The breakfast is a sausage and pancake meal that is “baked on the griddle,” accompanied by juice or coffee, for only $5.

Entertainment is equestrian, and runs from 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. Among the groups participating are the King County Posse, the Island County Drill Team, and the Ellensburg Rodeo Court.

Kids' activities will include balloon artists, face painters, Bubbleman, and pony rides. There's also a petting zoo planned. A donation of $5 for pony rides will be greatly appreciated.

Families are encouraged to follow the Trillium Trail for a 1.6-mile walk, and anyone who would like to do so is encouraged to take part in the 5K Coyote Run/Walk. Early registration is available through May 23 and the last day to register is June 14; the fee is $25 for adults and $10 for young people 14 years of age and under.

This year's Party is set for June 27, from 8.30 am until 12.30 pm overall, at Bridle Trails Park. Breakfast will be served from 8.30 am until 11.30 am; entertainment and kids' activities are scheduled from 9.30 am until 12.30 pm. The 1K walk will be ongoing from 10.00 am until 12.00 pm, and the 5K Coyote Run will start at 7.30 am. Banner printing can provide decorations for outdoor events like this.
