Kirkland is bringing back a popular holiday event to light up the city.
Light Up Kirkland takes place annually at Juanita Beach Park. During the evening, people attending the event will be able to enjoy hot cider, hot cocoa, and cookies while they stroll through the park. It will be transformed into a winter wonderland by extensive displays of lights.
Live music will be provided by local students, and a huge bonfire will take place on the beach. People who come to enjoy the fun will receive goodie Bags as well.
The highlight of the evening is arguably a visit from Argosy Cruises’ Christmas Ship™. This Pacific Northwest tradition started in 1949, and is a cruise to the various communities located on Puget Sound. The Official Christmas Ship™ is the Spirit of Seattle™, which is decked out with hundreds of shimmering white lights.
Once decorated, the ship calls at approximately 40 different communities. Choirs perform Christmas carols to guests aboard the ship, the follow boat, and the residents on shore. The performance lasts about 20 minutes and is broadcast so people on shore can hear the singers easily.
If possible, people are encouraged to take public transportation to get to the waterfront. Light Up Kirkland is set for December 10, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Outdoor events like these can be enhanced with seasonal decorations created by organizers using banner printing.
