Kirkland lights up for the season

A popular event is returning to Kirkland in time for the holidays.

Light Up Kirkland is a gorgeous event when lights are strung throughout Marina Park. Outdoor lighting is always beautiful and seems especially festive during the holidays. People coming to the event are invited to enjoy “Cocoa and cookies with the Council,” then go off to explore the light display. Local students will provide musical entertainment, and the beach will be the location of a huge bonfire.

The highlight of the evening is likely to be the arrival of Argosy Cruises’ Christmas Ship™. The Spirit of Seattle has been designed as the Official Christmas Ship™, decorated with hundreds of sparkling white lights, in a traditional event that goes back more than 70 years. The ship sails to various waterfront communities on Puget Sound, with choirs on board. The singers perform both for those guests on the ship and those on shore, such as the people attending Light Up Kirkland.

Light Up Kirkland is set to take place on December 9, from 4.00pm until 7.00pm, at Marina Park. The park, which is one of the most popular spots in Kirkland, is on the city’s waterfront on Lake Washington.

There is no admission charge for the evening. The Christmas Ship™ will be docked in Kirkland from 2.00pm until 3.30pm. Organizers of events like these can create colorful seasonal Posters to advertise them by using poster printing techniques.
