A popular run is on the schedule for Kirkland.
The 12K's of Christmas was, for many years, managed by Pro-Motion Events, but that company was purchased by the Snohomish Running Company (SRC). Established in 2012, the SRC owns and operates local races like The Mukilteo Turkey Trot, The Snohomish River Run, and The Snohomish Women's Run. The two companies worked together to make sure the transition was smooth, and scheduled events went ahead. As part of the transition, the spirit, fun, route, and name of the upcoming race was retained.
There are six separate races this year: a 12K and 5K; a student 12K and 5K; and a virtual 12K and 5K.
The race will have a wave start, with three groups of 12K participants leaving first, and those taking part in the 5K leaving later. A Kid Dash will take place an hour after the main races begin. The course starts and ends at Marina Park in Kirkland's downtown. Walkers will be allowed to take part in both races, and all participants should be aware that in some places, they could encounter vehicular traffic moving in one or both directions. In these spots, they should remain inside the safety cones at the roadside.
The 12Ks of Christmas is scheduled for December 13. Registration is already open, and interested runners should sign up now. Banner printing can provide weather-resistant course markers for events like this.
