Juan Wauters is a native of Uruguay who now lives in Queens and is best known for the way in which he presents his material—with absolutely sincerity—rather than for his work in any specific genre. His lyrics are heartfelt, and his laid-back style gains him new fans with every appearance.
Wauters is a founding member of The Beets, a garage act formed in Queens. In 2014, he started releasing his own music beginning with “N.A.P. North American Poetry.” This solo effort built on the sound he had achieved with The Beets, but added an introspective mood inspired by folk music. He refined his technique on 2015’s “Who, Me?”, which was filled with observations of daily life, sung in Spanish and English.
After that, he spent time traveling, specifically in Latin America, which prompted him to include songs from countries such as Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile in his next release, “La Onda De Juan Pablo,” and the next, “Introducing Juan Pablo.”
