The Eastside Native American Education Program (ENAEP) has announced plans for its annual dinner and silent auction, to be held in Kirkland.
Proceeds from the event go to help children's education, and the items available include gift cards, an autographed Seahawks football, a vacation at a Cancun resort, tickets to various local events, and sporting certificates. In addition, a kids' table is planned, where hourly auctions will be held, and raffle tickets will be drawn.
The Eastside Native American Education Program is funded by the federal government, and assists Native American, American Indian, and Alaskan Native students in grades K through 12 in the Northshore, Bellevue, and Lake Washington School Districts.
Since the Indian Education Act was passed in 1972, the government has helped local school districts fund programs for their native students. The program is designed to help these students succeed academically, as well as enrich their cultural lives. The act also gives Alaska Native and American Indian parents the power to form advisory boards for those schools that use these programs.
The event takes place next Friday, March 17, at 6:00 pm, in Kirkland at Lake Washington High School.
Events like this can benefit if organizers work with a newsletter printing company to create an item for community residents. Not only does a newsletter give the organizers room to discuss the event, but in this case it would also allow them to explain the educational program in detail.
